Born in Chile in 1971, he started a biochemical engineering degree (environment field) at the Catholic University of Valparaíso, where he also finished a Master of Science degree in biochemical engineering (anaerobic technology) in 2000, in the scope of a colaboration between the university and the Department of Biological Engineering from the University of Minho in Portugal.
In 2001 he started his PhD in chemical and biological engineering at the University of Minho (granulation in high rate anaerobic reactors).
He is also an external consultant (organic waste and biofuels) of the CVR (Centre for Waste Valorisation) and an invited researcher at the CT2M (Center of Avdvanced Materials) both at the University of Minho.
From 2007 until now he is working as CTO of the company and project manager in the field of environmental and energy technologies at Simbiente. He is also on charge of innovation capacities, as well as the building of a national and international network of scientific and technological business partners.
